1095:

1095 high carbon steel is the most common and one of the most widely used carbon steels on the market.

The carbon content of 1095 high carbon steel is 0.95%~1.03%. After heat treatment, the hardness can be processed to a high hardness of 57-60HRC, and the toughness is also good.

While it is prone to rust, it is also easy to sharpen, retains its sharpness well, and has good wear resistance.

These points can completely ignore its rust-prone characteristics.

And as long as you pay attention to daily cleaning and maintenance, you can prevent it from rusting.

TOPS, OKC, and KABAR are all common users of 1095 high carbon steel.
1084:

The 1084 carbon steel seems to have been discontinued, and the 1080 carbon steel is currently in production.

It's pretty much the same except the carbon content is different from 1095.

1084 has about 85% carbon content.

1075:

1075 is a medium to high carbon steel that is often used to replace 1084 steel.

In addition to 1095 high carbon steel, TOPS also uses 1075 carbon steel, but not much.

1080:

1080 is a steel that replaces 1084.

Other than that it has slightly less carbon than 1084, it's pretty much the same.

The 1080's are tough because of the reduced carbon content.

But also because of the reduced carbon content, its wear resistance and hardness are lower than 1095.

1080 is a great steel for rough use on broadswords.

1070:

1070 is very similar to 1080, but 1070 has a lower carbon content, with an average concentration of about 70%.

1070 is tougher than 1080, but has lower wear resistance and hardness than 1080.
